Growing Esteem Knowledge Transfer

Will Knowledge Transfer increase existing academic workloads?

The incorporation of knowledge transfer into the overall University strategy does not necessarily mean increased workloads. It will, in most cases, involve a re-organisation of priorities required to fall into line with a new strategic direction. While knowledge transfer is entirely new to the strategic direction of the University of Melbourne it is not a new activity. There are a large number of people who have been, and continue to be, engaged with knowledge transfer activities at the University.

Partnerships and community engagement activities that meet the definition of knowledge transfer have long been an integral part of the University’s research and teaching.

Existing knowledge transfer projects will be recognised through a realignment of the strategic requirements of Growing Esteem with operational demands.

The adoption of knowledge transfer as the third strand of the University’s Growing Esteem strategy will also create opportunities for research, teaching and learning projects to be communicated to a wider audience.
