$8 million to fund Australia India Institute

The Deputy Prime Minster, Julia Gillard, has announced that the Australian Government will provide more than $8 million to fund a new Australia India Institute at the University of Melbourne - read more.

The Murrup Barak launch

The Murrup Barak- Melbourne Institute for Indigenous Development has just been launched. Murrup Barak will provide a focal point for work in Indigenous Studies across the University and strengthen partnerships with Indigenous Australian communities. The launch also incorporated the inaugural Narrm Oration by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Massey University, New Zealand, Professor Mason Durie.
